This logo is for the Emmaus charity. This charity is different as rather than placing people with temporary access to basic needs such giving them a hotel for the night or handing out food rations they specialise in giving homeless people a second chance by offering homes, jobs and a place of belonging. Their aim is to aid people to get out of homelessness. This a good example of conceptual design as the hand holding the flower also represents an abstract dove. The typography used for the charity name is in sans-serif font with a lower case on the ‘E’. this is to give the impression of a more approachable outlook on the design.
‘Home start’ is a local community that helps families during challenging times. The Home start logo is conceptual as the ‘O’ and the ‘A’ represent two figures reaching out for each other for help which implies that the logo gives the impression of trust.
‘Fareshare’ is a UK charity network that aims to collect excess food surplus that would have otherwise go to waste to relieve people from food poverty. They then donate their inventory of food to charities and local communities all over the UK. The logo represents a simplified apple but also shows a hand reaching out a small leaf which shows that all items donated to this charity matters.
The national autistic society is a charity to help the lives for people with autism in the UK. With 20,000 members this charity focuses supports the rights and interest of all autistic people. The logo is conceptual as two figures appear to extend arms to show they are reaching out to each other however the logo imagery also shows what appears to be one smiley face and one sad face whilst only having one eye next to each face.
The salvation army is a Christian worldwide charity organisation that offers a wide range of help and advise without judgement or discrimination. They believe that everyone can have a place in the community. They aid matters such as financial advice, homelessness and supporting refugees. I think this design logo has not much of a conceptual design as the design is very simplistic, if I was to make the logo conceptual however I would maybe add detail to the typography like adding figures within the letters like the other logos.
