The impact of sustainability

It is important to take care of the planet we live in. Sustainability is the idea of being concerned with protecting the planet & environment, stopping climate change and promotes social development without causing harm to wildlife. Sustainability provides a better impact for future generations to thrive and guarantees life without the threat of resources being non-renewable and by using renewable resources responsibly. Little everyday activities such as reducing less waste, taking bike rides instead of vehicles or reducing appliance usage goes a long way for providing sustainability all year round. If our developments aren’t sustainable, high chance us & future generations are going to suffer. Sustainability usually has 3 pillars: Social, environmental & economic.

Consumerism nowadays has been at its all time high, it is important to take account that excess consumerism leads to the the threat of rising greenhouse gases which emit towards the atmosphere and pollution, causing increasing temperatures which can cause pressure to the planets biodiversity. Pollution is also caused from burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. Although some burning fossil fuels can be caused by volcanoes or burning forests most of it comes from industries that use power plants that are used to generate energy for distribution purposes. Other power plants are solar, wind wave or hydroelectric power with each option having different risks to humans and for the environment as well. For example, solar energy is a good renewable energy resources which is better for the planet. These eco-friendly ways help us limit the impact of damage to the earth.

Ethical in sustainability

Being ethical means to recommend the concepts of right and wrong, to be unethical means the opposite, to be morally incorrect by not conforming to social or professional standards of behaviour. Ethics and environmental sustainability both go hand in hand. It is important to use ethics as it makes sure all voices are heard despite some that are difficult to take into account such as animals or plants. Ethics concern us to be more co-operative to live better lives by living by good codes and principles. Things such as helping sustaining communities are are good examples as it involves living with the physical & moral constraints of what the planet has to offer.

For my concept animation would be to show awareness on how important the world we live in for things we take for granted such as nature. For my animation I was thinking about an idea of preserving the world and all the natural elements such as rainforests, lakes and coral reefs to encourage people to be sustainable. Imagery such as factories polluting in skies, coral reefs being destroyed and animals being affected are all examples I can use to show people what happens if they don’t take action. I also like the concept idea of the imagery above where there are hands holding the earth, symbolically meaning that the whole world is in our hands.
