This week I have to pick out 3 animation videos for the conceptual animation I am going to be taking inspiration from for my 20 second video. It is important that I have to take into consideration as to pick videos that will influence me the most so I can have a clearer understanding as to what style I want to achieve. I have picked 3 videos that are the same topic for my animation however I chosen to pick 3 different art styles for variation and to see how each video presents their cause on screen.
The first choice of media used is an example I am going to take most inspiration from as it is informative, fun to watch and is conceptual. For the first 10 seconds I like the way how it shows the Earth with trees, cities & cars popping up in the beginning sequences. The video is like an infographic that is explaining as to what is the circular economy and society can do to help. I like how informative and entertaining it is to watch yet it is also educational to the viewers. I dislike how the video is longer as the other examples since they have managed to get a point across much faster which is needed for my upcoming animation. Furthermore I like how minimalistic the video design is which is something I am going to consider for my own creation.
‘Mother Nature’ is a short 29 second video stop motion photograph animation of a woman lying on the ground with each frame showing at the beginning that the woman who represents ‘mother nature’ with trash surrounding her. The dullness & dirt shows how trash is making nature suffer. The next sequences show the trash clearing up & is replaced with vibrant plants, insects & the woman is smiling, she also appears to look brighter and happier before the plants are taken away and she appears to be back to normal. I really like how quickly the point is made and the viewers understand the message without having to use any sound. I also like how they used stop motion photography to create a story and how they give the illusion that the frames make the elements look like they are moving.
‘MAN 2020’ Is a short animated film on how wildlife enjoy the freedom of a quieter world. This illustrated animated video shows how the Coronavirus pandemic have allowed animals a rare opportunity to experience life with hardly any humans around. In the video it is showing that animals are flourishing in urban places with trees rapidly growing and cartoon animals celebrating until a man (who represents humanity) shows outside the door implying that the quarantine is over which causes all wildlife & nature to instantly flee from the scene. The video then shows the ‘man’ to then cruelly stand on an insect then carry on about his day. I like this video as the message was quick and the transitions of the forests, animals & buildings were fun to look at.
