For this week I have to create a bitmap on Illustrator. Using the ideas of what the other students have written I had to present these ideas in a creative way, we have created a rough version of our ideas which we will later go on Illustrator and create a design for this. Using the map I have to consider the composition, colour, typography and conceptual design.
I have started my bitmap design which fits the same theme as Rooted in Hull. I have created a mind- map based on the notes we took on campus, I have tried making a fitting theme for my mind map by basing the imagery and colour palette of that of Rooted in Hull’s. I have added further colours as well to reflect on the organic theme Rooted has in their colour palette. Using everybody’s thoughts we have came up with a bunch of ideas, the goal for this is to create solutions to expand on Rooted in Hulls franchise.
For my design I wanted to make my bitmap simple yet straightforward, I didn’t want my bitmap to look too overcrowded so I decided to add some spacing between the notes so it looks more legible. I wanted to highlight the main ideas by enlarging the text and placing a border around it and the notes relating to the topics but in smaller text.
