For my major project I am going to be using everything I have learnt to create a fantasy AR experience that combines fantasy within the real world by blending the real and surreal elements seamlessly, this will ensure my project will look as realistic as possible.
Why am I choosing to create a fantasy AR experience?
Developing an AR piece can serve as a standout piece in my portfolio as augmented reality can be a fun way to explore a surrealism. By including augmented reality into my portfolio I can demonstrate my problem solving, creativity & technical skills all into one project. As augmented reality is rapidly evolving there will be a demand of professionals in AR. By gaining experience in AR now I will be for the new jobs that will come up in the future.
What am I going to do for the final outcome?
for my project I want to emerge & blend reality & surrealism to make AR to create a highly immersive experience to put a twist onto everyday life. I want to create an experience to make an escape for users as a therapeutic way for a valuable and much needed break from reality. This can be a means as improving their mental health, hence the phrase ‘release the inner child’ where you can experience imaginative exploration and escapism.

My ideal outcome for this project would be to create a surrealism landscape where I am able to express my fantasy surrealism whilst breaking the limitations of traditional media. I will also be using different media such as Illustrator, Substance Stager, Maya, Adobe Aero and a virtual reality headset. The methods I will be using to create my project would be to paint my assets on VR then it will be brought onto Augmented reality. I will be using AR software’s such as Adobe Aero and Zap works to make this happen. By layering assets onto the real world I can tell a story through surrealism fantasy for an enhanced digital experience.

Before creating my AR fantasy surrealism experience I need to begin with a theme so I can create sub-categories for this genre as surrealism is a very vague topic so it needs to be broken down to specific themes. I also need to find ways how I can problem solve an execute my surrealism theme properly as doing surrealism is not a straight forward task . After thinking about what I want to create I have chosen to go with the theme of Alice in Wonderland as it incorporates surrealism & fantasy perfectly with eccentric characters and enchanted settings.
My Ideal outcome
The overall aim of my project is to give a fully immersive experience of an Alice in wonderland surrealism adventure though the comfort of one’s smartphone. The goal will be a walk-through experience with the user experiencing first-person of the story of Alice in Wonderland. This will be accomplished through well-created assets, the use of correct backgrounds & the correct techniques & skills I will need to learn and use that would be appropriate in my project.
